A neighborhood name is a useful starting point, but each property deserves its own review. Use these questions to make your next visit more productive.

Tour the north slope and the hilltop separately.

Jackson Playground and Connecticut Yankee orient the north side, while Plow on 18th Street and the Potrero library give reasons to walk higher on the hill. Check the actual climb, crossings, building stairs and garage approach. A nearby destination on a flat map does not reproduce the experience of the route. Compare outlook and access from the specific entrance before assigning a neighborhood-wide convenience premium.

Use today’s bus service in the base case.

SFMTA currently labels 10 Townsend Suspended with No current service. The active 19 Polk has stops on De Haro and Rhode Island, while 22 Fillmore serves 16th Street toward Mission Bay. Verify the actual walk, slope and transfers instead of relying on an old route map.

A Potrero view should come with a full access and cost review.

Compare the outlook from usable rooms, legal floor area, light, layout and usable outdoor space. Check whether parking is included, shared or separately charged, and test the approach. For a condo, read reserves, insurance and assessment notices; for a whole building, verify units, leases and repair obligations. We would price roof, drainage and other identified work from inspections and bids, rather than assume the neighborhood’s rising median absorbs it.

  • Rainfall and temperature source: NOAA NCEI San Francisco Downtown, USW00023272 ↗, at 37.7705, −122.4269. These are city station readings, not measurements at an individual home. We sum the daily precipitation records and count days with at least 0.01 inches. The precipitation variable includes any liquid-equivalent frozen precipitation.
  • Daily values retain NOAA’s station observation dates. An observation day can end at a station’s reporting time; we do not relabel it as a midnight-to-midnight Pacific measurement. Trace precipitation is marked “Trace.” Missing or quality-flagged precipitation rejects a monthly update; incomplete temperatures remain unavailable.
